Duration

2 days

A solo sprint, targeted redesign, and critical thinking.
For my third project at Ironhack, I redesigned four key screens of the Uber Eats app. As a frequent user, I often felt overwhelmed by the cluttered interface. My goal: simplify the navigation while respecting the brand identity.

Project overview

Project overview

Partial redesign of an existing app in just 2 days, handled solo.
This project came after several team-based sprints and offered full freedom in defining the problem, selecting which screens to redesign, and choosing the right methodology.

Objectives

Identify major pain points through a critical UX lens and propose a smoother, more focused user experience.
I focused on simplifying the layout, reorganizing filters, improving hierarchy, and practicing fast decision-making under tight constraints.

UX/UI Process

I began with a competitive analysis to uncover UX patterns across similar apps. Then I conducted a heuristic evaluation based on Nielsen’s 10 principles to identify usability issues within Uber Eats — such as poor filter organization, visual clutter, and confusing navigation.
At the end of the sprint, I presented my redesign during a design critique session with instructors and peers. Their feedback helped refine my approach and validate my decisions.

Results & Impact

This project, completed in just two days, strengthened my ability to make quick and effective decisions, while improving my management of priorities. Design criticism played a key role in my approach, enabling me to identify inconsistencies and refine my choices. This experience also taught me to balance creativity and time constraints, an essential skill for designing optimized, user-centered interfaces.
